License and Data Use

ScenarioPulse is a public forecasting tool developed by Life & Health Metrics. The projection outputs, methodology descriptions, and supporting documentation on this site are made available under the terms below.

You may freely use, reproduce, and distribute ScenarioPulse forecasts and data for:

  • Non-commercial research and education — academic papers, theses, teaching materials, policy briefs, and non-profit publications.
  • Personal and informational use — private analysis or reporting for internal purposes.
  • Journalism — reporting on demographic and pension trends with appropriate attribution.

Any public use of ScenarioPulse outputs — charts, tables, figures, or derived statistics — must include the following citation:

ScenarioPulse (scenariopulse.com), Life & Health Metrics, [year of access].

For academic work, please also cite the specific assumptions set and scenario name as displayed in the tool (visible in the scenario summary panel).

The following uses require prior written permission from Life & Health Metrics:

  • Commercial use — incorporation into commercial products, paid services, or for-profit publications.
  • Redistribution as a service — making ScenarioPulse outputs available through a third-party platform or API.
  • Modification of source data — presenting altered outputs without clearly disclosing that they differ from the original model results.

ScenarioPulse projections are illustrative scenarios, not official forecasts. They are intended to explore the sensitivity of long-term outcomes to demographic and policy assumptions. They do not represent predictions, and Life & Health Metrics makes no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose.

Users are solely responsible for any decisions made on the basis of the information provided on this site.

The demographic assumptions used in ScenarioPulse draw on publicly available data from national statistics offices and international organisations (UN, Eurostat, WHO). Where such data carries its own license terms, those terms apply to the underlying data. ScenarioPulse projection outputs are a derived work produced by the ScenarioPulse modeling engine and are covered by this license, not by the original data license.
